My first rant

My dear friend Cat says I should blog my creative exploits in the kitchen and crafting...so here goes!  I'll probably also throw in random thoughts and observations.  And once I retire I'll be able to rant freely about politics and social issues!

I'll allow myself a little mini-rant today...today I took the day off to get what I hope are the final estimates, for the final home improvements required by my current insurer to renew my homeowner's policy.  Once the work is done (new roof, new fence, deck gone, patio or 3 yards of dirt covering all the now exposed infrastructure (irrigation pipes, wires for garden lighting, etc.) previously covered by deck, cracked driveway and other "tripping hazards" replaced/repaired...wait for it...I'M GONNA CHANGE INSURERS!  Take that, evil insurance company (that begins with an "A" and has a "President" as a spokesman)!  Looks better tho...

Unhappy about the dent in my retirement cash reserves...and a tad angry I'm having to deal with this alone (altho anger's supposed to be a normal stage of grief, right?).  And I'm not totally alone...A hauled 3 yards of dirt this week!  I wonder what he's gonna say when I tell him we need to move it again  :-/ 

K, I'm rambling...off to do something "creative" with a hamburger patty.
